Namaste,
I hope you are well and have had a great holiday season!
My best wishes for a health, happiness and abundance for you and your loved
ones in the New Year.
I also wish to express my
gratitude and appreciation for your participation in Yoga and any of the
practices or healing arts which bring you closer to your true self. The process
of our evolution to wellness is often uneven and work is not always easy. I am
inspired and moved by all that I witness each day as you navigate the path
toward your highest goals, whatever they may be. I hope the new year brings you
success in attaining all you seek in Yoga.
Yogis believe that all are benefitted when we as individuals work to deepen our
relationship with the “I” that is ”We”; reconnecting to that higher part of us
that realizes our essential oneness with each other. In this spirit I offer you
a heartfelt “Namaste”;
I honor the light within you.
I wish to share you with these
words from the Tao te Ching, written over 2500 years ago by the Chinese Sage Lao
Tzu. It is a beautiful invitation to come home to ourselves, and in doing so
allow us greater access to the lasting peace that we seek. To me it speaks to
the highest possibilities our practices of Yoga and Meditation have to offer.
Tao Te Ching Aphorism 10
Can you coax your mind from its wandering
and keep to the original
oneness?
Can you let your body become
supple as a newborn child's?
Can you cleanse your inner
vision
until you see nothing but the
light?
Can you love people and lead
them
without imposing your will?
Can you deal with the most
vital matters
by letting events take their
course?
Can you step back from your
own mind
and thus understand all
things?
Giving birth and nourishing,
having without possessing,
acting with no expectations,
leading and not trying to
control:
this is the supreme virtue.
Lao Tzu(translated by Stephen Mitchell)
Once again, Happy New Year and all the best to you and your loved ones. I look
forward to continuing to serve you in 2010.
Om Shanti(Peace),
Alan
